20 Day’s Later
Ok so yeah I am in the Halloween spirit right now. I am very sad that I missed all the Halloween movies and the all around feeling of Halloween. But in Romania they do not celobrate Halloween. It doesnt even feel like October to me at all! Not just because the lack of spooky expierences and pumpkins and copious amounts of candy but it is still warm here (warm for me atleast). I would say that it is about 65-70 degress here. I simply can’t take it! The other day my host mother was waiting for me to come out of the house. I was wearing a new dress and my uggs. As I walked out of the gate she Eeked in terror as I was wearing a dress with no tights. When I got into the car she asked me if I was cold and I said no. She then pointed out that she was wearing her winter coat. I just looked at my eskimo looking host mother as she said I would be looked at strangely and pointed at in school for my lack of clothes when it’s winter. But let me tell you about my mountin adeventure! Last weekend my host father took me to a mountin resort area, sorta like Killington called Rânca prounounced Riinka. It was the last motor cross race of the season before the snow came. It wasn’t really a race at all. It was just a bunch of old men riding the trails with their ego’s inflated. And the night that we got their, there was a party! Let me tell you Romanian’s know how to party! The party was in a lodge about a 20 minute walk away from our hotel! Oh and the other american girls and their fathers came too! But this party invloved lot’s and lot’s of wine and other drinks which we couldnt drink :P. But the hot chocolate was good! Iubesc Romanâ chicolata cald! Foarte foarte foarte fantastic! Mhmm! Peroid and a paragraph Iubesc Romană! But after the first party we all waddled back to our hotel and slept. Then when we woke up we walked around the mountin village and explored! It reminded me so much of Vermont! I have now discovered I love mountins! But after our exploration we bought some lunch. I bought some fries, cartofii prajitii. And I put salt and vingegar on them! That was good. Then we sent the men off for their 6 hour mountin extravagnaza! So we played cards and drank more hot chocolate. And on occasion we played with the mountin dogs. Este foarte dolce! Then some of the manly men were finally geting back and we ate a tradiontal mountin meal. Which consisted of either lamb, beef both in a delicious sauce, Mamaliga (nu imi sa place mamaliga). It was a good meal over all. Ahh but the party after the meal was hilarious. Some of the adults started stripping (pg rated) and it was hilarious! Oh and I forgot to mention the love of my life Bobitza (not really, inside joke). Thats another story for another blog. But after we left the mountin :( we went back to valcea. Sad face I know right.

Plane’s, Sigishora, Bran Castle, Trouble’s, Mexi-CAN’s, Sibiu, Arad and my Romnian life for the last month
Ok so, I just recieved my computer charger today! (I ran into the house and I kept saying bine bine bine!) That is my reason for not blogging in like forever. But ok to sum up my plane trips, I hate seltzer water, I got huge blisters from my hightop nikes on my heel (yes that pondered me aswell) and to top it all off I waited for like an hour searching for my luggage when lo and behold it was behind a wall (someone checked to see if it was their’s and placed it behind a wall). Ok so that was plane trips summed into 3 sentences.
I shall now talk about my trips in Romania. My first trip was to Sibiu with Carli, Shelby, My host father and Carli’s counselour Dinu (I call him dinusouar). And of course if your wondering if it was beautiful, it was. Damn Communists ruined a beautiful nation. Next trip was to Bran Castle in Transilyvania and Sigishora (pronounced sighi-shourah). That trip was taken by Carli, Shelby Carli’s host parents and moi. We stayed over night in a beautiful city from what seemed to be a fairytale. Might I just say a BMW might look big on the outside but they can be incredibly small on the inside. Transilvanyia is amazing! I felt right at home their, everyone else was pale O_O. And I at at Dracula’s home! Plus people were filming a Nazi film set in WWII France. I saw the Nazi flag on a church, rare sight! Oh and speaking of paleness I was invited to the park (Zavoy, I love this park). One of my friend’s boyfriend asked me why I was so pale, and I said I didnt know so he said the sun must not like me... I have to agree with his statement. Sadly we only got to look at Bran Castle because we had to leave to get to the hotel on time. But it’s amazing to say that I have seen Dracula’s Castle! Oh and I hate, hate, hate polenta. Just to throw that out there. That’s all I can think of for the moment. Check out my FB pics to stalk my life some more.
Ohhh this last weekend I went to my district conference in beautiful Arad. There is a total of 9 brave soles who ventured to the strange land of Romania, 1 brazilian girl, 5 american girls, 2 mexican boys and 1 taiwaneese boy. Sadly we were not let out of the hotel even with rotaracts watching our every move. Arad is not a dangerous place at all. But I was very offended when they told all of us to stop eating McDonalds and that we need to go on Euro tour. Number 1, I dont eat Mcdonalds here, number 2, eurotour is 2 freaking grand. I am sorry that I come from a single parent home and I am even lucky I got here. So dont look at my like I have 2 heads when I say I might not be able to go on a 10 day trip for 2 freakin grand. But Romanian’s are definitely sexist, the 2 mexi-can boys drank beer and wine, and the girls and I didnt, but if we took one sip of alchohal we would be shot dead by glares of angry romanians. But what can ya do. Let me say I have a new found love for Mexicans. There is 2 of them, Luis, tall poised, he went to military school and he tasers people and throws burritos at cops and then you have Marco who is as tall as me and is somewhat perverted and is a total party animal, lets just say opposite of Luis but he also throws burritos and tacos at cops and people on bikes. I like the sound of Mexico already. But we found out secrets about one another and I learned some new card games. That weekend went by to fast for me. Espeacially since I had a 6 hour car ride to look forward to twice in 2 days. Another thing that was sorta pointless and annoying was the rotarty gave us matching shirts so we could be herded more easily to the untrained eye. So we walked around the city in our matching black rotary shirts which were colared. So basically scew my life at that moment. But besides all of that I really enjoyed my new found friends of Alex (a girl my age from Pennsilyvanyia) and the 2 mexicans, paul didnt talk much.
My life in Romania, School is boring but I go anyways. I simply adore my host family even though they think eating sandwhiches everyday is bad for the soul. And my host mom is trying to turn me into a health freak. But I loves them like my second family. Anyways that was my life of a month summed up into 4 paragraphs.

6 Days.
6 Days and counting the hours!!! The anticipation is killing me. Plus going to school today did not help. It just reminded me of how much I hate my school -..- . I just got my flight itnerary I have 4 flights, Burlington to Chicago, Chicago to Germany, Germany to ROMANIA then an hour and a half drive to my city. I am not to keen on 4 flights, it’s just easier to lose my way or worse lose my luggage. But I am taking my most valuble items with me in my carry on. It almost seems like leaving will never come. I have always had it in the back of my mind that I will not for some godsaken reason go on my exchange. I guess it’s just the worry-wort in me. I am sort of sad for one reason, I really would have liked to see Bucky Larson; Born to be a star but you can’t have your cake and eat it to. I like going to the movies, just last saturday I went with my boyfriend Nate to see Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. It was a great movie. I persoannly am a fan of Guilleramo De Toro, Pan’s Labryinth is one of my favorite movies. I hope to go to the movies atleast once in Romania. AHHHHHH. I am sooo excited. Although I haven’t figured out what I am doing for pins so I have to get on that as soon as possible. I will probably blog again the day that I am leaving because my flight is in the evening. Six days.

2 WEEKS!
Yes, you did read that right, 2 WEEKS TIL I AM OUTTA THE USA AND IN ROMANIA. I am sorry for that I sometimes let my excitement get the best of me. Well anyway’s I got my new new passport after I lost my old one (someone stole it >:C ) and after trapseing around Vermont, all the way up to Burlington I did the whole process over again. THE FORMS these people make you fill out... Sheesh. I would post a picture as proof, but my mother is not letting me touch it until I leave. I just bought my new suitcase its quite tiny and it’s a beige. I dont know how I will fit all my shoes in it XD. Or my presnent’s for the host rents. For my last night in ths U.S.A. my mother is making me my favorite food, PIZZA. And no not any of that frozen stuff. The kind where you roll it out on the flour and stuff. But it seems like my mother keeps getting madder and madder at me with each day. I think she just will miss me...a lot. After all I am the chosen child. I still have yet to buy a bunch of items I require to step on the plane. I need a camera and some jeans and what not.
I think my date to leave is perfect! I leave on the 7th (good luck to begin with) then I arrive on my favorite day, thursday. I think it’s just bine. I have gained some weight over the summer so my goals in Romania will try to atleast stay the same and strive to lose 10 pounds. With good will and God’s blessing I am going to reverse the traditional rotary 10 pounds (well, atleast try)! But 2 week’s, 14 days.

Countdown TO LAUNCH!
Only 28 days left! Of course I will miss all my American friends and some parts of my life, but I am ready to make this journey. I haven’t really studied a lot of Romanian (yes I know I sound very stupid not studying but I have had a lot of busy days >.<) but I am confident in myself to know that I will learn the language very quickly. I know the basics, yes, no, how are you, my name is, I need help and many others. I am some what worried about sentence structure, for my francais days sentence structure was my worst. I am good at vocab and pronnouncing and what not. BUT only 28 more days! A lot of the other exchange students from my district have left and I am somewhat jealous of them. But lucky me I get to go to the first day of my american junior year. Whoopdy-doo. But it will give me a chance to say good-bye to all the people I didn’t get to say good-bye to in the summer. I will blog once again when the date gets closer!
